Room Selection Process

Room Draw Procedures

eRez Life gives students a convenient, online way to apply for housing, view available rooms, see room layouts and their roommate assignments – but most importantly, receive housing information in a timely manner!

Current Students

  • Current students are invited to log in and sign up for housing in March and April based on seniority. In order to select a room for the next academic year, students must pay a $100 room deposit (returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors only), be registered for fall classes and not have a past due balance with the College. No exceptions!

Incoming Students

  • New incoming students receive an email at their account letting them know when they can apply for housing. This email will be sent immediately after registration days.
  • Student’s roommate information will be accessible online in late July. All orientation information and move-in dates and times will be sent in late July or early August.
Additional Information

Waiting lists will be available for students who prefer premium housing, if it is no longer available at sign up time.

If a roommate does not return for the fall or spring semester, a student has the option of choosing a roommate; or if a private room is available, they may select the private room at the additional charge. However, if a student does not choose a roommate or refuses an assigned roommate, he or she will be charged an additional fee for a private room.

No room changes can be made without prior approval of the Student Life Office. Room change forms are available in the Howard Miller Student Center in the Student Life Office. Unauthorized room changes will result in a fine of $25 per day. Email the Student Life office or consult the Student Handbook (2021-22) for room change guidelines and fees.

Thiel College reserves the right to assign rooms/ roommates and expects all students to respect its’ property and furnishings. If a student does not choose a roommate and does not wish to pay for a private room, the Student Life office will assist the student in finding a roommate, either in his or her room or in another room.
