GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College artist in residence Jack Hayes will exhibit his paintings at Weyers-Sampson Art Gallery in the Howard Miller Student Center starting with an opening from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday.

Hayes’ work will remain on display through Dec. 4. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-4:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

Private collectors and commercial firms from around the country have purchased Hayes’ work. His art has been displayed in corporate venues, as well as therapeutic settings like the Johnson Cancer Research Center of Kansas State University. This is his second showing at Thiel College, and he also had a solo show at the Lutheran University Center in Pittsburgh in 2014. He is the founder of the St. Cloud Art Crawl, Minn.

Hayes abstract paintings range in size from 1-foot square to works that can be as large as 12 feet tall. According to Hayes, some of his work is intended to confront and challenge, some of it to engulf the senses, and some is intended to soothe.

Hayes has a B.S. in philosophy from Kansas State University. He is represented by D’Hopkins Denniston Fine Arts Gallery in Erie, Pa.
