GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Members of the Thiel College Choir are raising money for a two-week tour of Ireland in May 2016. This event is part of the 150th anniversary celebration to commemorate the founding of Thiel College.
The choir is continuing its long tradition of its annual “Fall Chores” fundraiser now through November. Thiel Choir services can be used for many household chores, including leaf raking, window washing, gutter cleaning, painting, and basement or garage cleaning. For more information or to request services, contact fundraising chair Nate Flory at (724) 771-4197 or choir director Michael Bray, Ph.D., at (724) 589-2149. Donation is $10 per laborer per hour.
The Thiel Choir was founded in 1953 by Marlowe Johnson, Ph.D., and is now celebrating its 63rd year. This year’s Thiel Choir consists of 44 members and tours annually—mostly in the eastern United States and every four years internationally. The itinerary for the May 9-21, 2016 tour to Ireland is set and the choir has begun fundraising in earnest for their 13-day tour, which includes concerts in St. Anne’s, Belfast; St. Nicholas Cathedral, Galway; the Kylemore Abbey, St. Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin; and St. Fergal’s Church, Bray.
