Lichtenwalter selected for leadership role with regional Kappa Sigma committee

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College business major Charlie Lichtenwalter ’22 was named to The Undergraduate Advisory Committee for Kappa Sigma fraternity recently.

Lichtenwalter, of Erie, Pa., is a 2018 graduate of Mercyhurst Prep. As a representative of Area 3 on the advisory committee, he ensures that undergraduate viewpoints are presented to the Supreme Executive Committee and that undergraduates’ voices are heard directly. Each member of the advisory committee is elected to a one-year term by the chapters in his area.

Lichentenwalter has held several leadership positions with the Thiel College chapter. He is also senior class president, a member of the golf team, a teaching assistant and peer tutor and a member of the chess club. He was honored as a Thiel Team member of the month in January and as a student of the month at the College in March 2021.

Lichtenwalter is active in his hometown of Erie. He coached youth basketball in a City of Erie recreational program that taught boys and girls from 9–17 the fundamentals of basketball as well as life. For the past three summers, he has volunteered as a coach in and a speaker discussing the benefits of the program and how to succeed in high school and college. He has also enjoyed working on Kappa Sigma’s philanthropy projects. He established the 9/11 stair walk, assisted the Greenville American Legion in restoring their lodge and raising money for military veterans during Kappa Sigma’s See-Saw-a-Thon.
