GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College announces David Mogle as the new Director of The Thiel Fund, the largest source of unrestricted funds at the College.

Mogle will oversee the annual fund, which raises money for areas of the greatest need and scholarship at the College. He will strengthen the fundraising link between the College and its alumni, friends, campus family members, parents, businesses and corporations. He creates and executes the Annual Fund solicitation process, which includes planning direct mail campaigns, leading phonathons and conducting personal visits. Additionally, he will manage donor cultivation and contributor recognition.

Prior to Thiel, Mogle was an Advancement Officer at The Marvelwood School, in Kent, Conn. from 2015–2019. He focused on annual giving and alumni relations. Mogle was the head boys varsity basketball coach and was a finalist for the New England Prep Basketball Class D Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019.

He was the Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations at The Phelps School, in Malvern, Pa., from July 2019–April 2020. He was the head boys varsity basketball coach, and an assistant boys prep team basketball coach. The prep team consisted of signed NCAA Division I, II, and III student-athletes. Mogle joined the Thiel community in July 2020 as an admission counselor.

Mogle has a legacy connection to Thiel. His father, David B. Mogle ’71, and his late mother, Deborah “Debbie” (Ajak) Mogle ’75, graduated from Thiel.

“Thiel is a special place for me. I look forward to working with our alumni, faculty and staff, students, and friends of the school to continue the positive momentum and service provided by the Advancement Team,” Mogle said.

The Thiel Fund raises money to assist student scholarships, attract and retain high-quality faculty, strengthen athletic programs and intramural activities, and enhance fitness facilities for students. It also ensures the College can provide technology needs for all students. Ultimately fulfilling the institutional commitment to providing a quality higher education to every student.

“The College community is excited to welcome David into this new leadership role. He brings with him a wealth of experience, connections and talent to the staff,” Vice President for College Advancement Roberta J. Leonard said.

Mogle, who lives in Hermitage, Pa., will be working with Mark Batt ’87, who has moved into the role of Director of Advancement for Thiel College.
