GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., joined members of the Board of Trustees and alumni and about 100 other members of the Greenville community at the ribbon cutting for the new Cobblestones Suites & Hotel along 81 Hadley Road on Tuesday.
The grand opening event included short addresses from many of the key contributors as well as room tours, food and refreshments.
The 54-room facility is the first chain hotel in the Greenville area. The hotel has a pool and spa, fitness room and conference area.
Several key members of the investment team have ties to the College. Chair of the Board of Trustees, Barry Stamm, M.D. ’70, and his wife, Carol ’71, Trustees Rick Huether ’74 and his wife, Mary Ellen, and Dale Deist and his wife, Barbara, were among the 16 investors from the region. Greenville businessman Harvey Childs H’15 was also a member of the investment group.
The hotel has been open since May.
