GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College announces more than 150 students are expected to volunteer Sunday, April 12 to work at Greenville Community Park or along Main Street for the "Spring Into Action" event.
Students will meet in the park and are scheduled to clean the park from 1 to 3 p.m. A second shift is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. and those students will be cleaning along Main Street.
Director of Student Activities Than Oo said he has pledges from about 75 percent of the 250 students who belong to campus Greek organizations to work during the “Spring Into Action” event. Students from other clubs and organizations, as well as the general student body, are expected to be volunteering.
“An event like this makes our students aware of the endless service opportunities that surround them here in Greenville, in their hometown, or wherever their next stop might be,” Oo said. “This is a great way to get students engaged in the local community and to make our students better citizens of Greenville and the world at large.”
