Thiel College enrollment vice president appears on TV to discuss test-optional admissions

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Vice President for Enrollment Management Ashley Josay Zullo appeared on the Tuesday edition of WFMJ Today to talk about the waiver on standardized testing for applicants.

“We never want to put students at a disadvantage. Not everyone is a great test-taker,” Zullo said during the interview with the Youngstown NBC affiliate. “Eliminating standardized testing is really going to help the students who shine on a daily basis. We want to see what our students are doing consistently, not just on one Saturday.”

In addition to using a test-optional admission policy, the College is hosting virtual visits that ensure prospective students and their family members can still meet with campus community members who are an important part of the college decision-making process. Admission counselors can conduct a virtual meeting and counselors can potentially add faculty members, coaches, department chairs, current Thiel College students or administrative team members to the virtual visit. Virtual visit sessions are available from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Prospective students can also take a video tour of campus by going to the Thiel College’s homepage. The tour is also on youtube.com.

The Office of Admission has also been working with the College’s Financial Aid office to extend the deadlines for nearly all institutional aid and scholarship applications.
