Three seniors honored as February Students of the Month

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Loyal Jasper ’16, of Penn Hills, Pa., Derek Runge ’16, of Greenville, Pa., and Kelsey Schneider ’16, of Butler, Pa., are Thiel College’s Students of the Month for February.

Jasper, a 2012 graduate of Penn Hills High School, is a psychology major with a minor in criminal justice studies. After graduation, he plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career in forensic psychology. Jasper is president of Pi Nu Epsilon national music honorary society. He is a member of the Thiel Choir, Thiel Players and Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride. Jasper is active in Kappa Sigma fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega theater honor society, The National Society of Leadership and Success, and Psi Chi psychology national honorary.

His parents, Loyal and Tracey Jasper, live in Penn Hills.

Runge (not pictured), a 2012 graduate of Greenville Junior-Senior High School, is a chemistry major with a mathematics minor. After graduation, he plans to attend graduate school. Runge is active with Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, Dietrich Honors Institute and Kappa Mu Epsilon mathematics honor society.

His parents, Kenneth and Sherry Runge, live in Greenville.

Schneider, a 2012 graduate of Butler Area Senior High School, is a forensic accounting, accounting and business administration major. She is president of the Student Government Association. Schneider is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, the women’s golf team, Alpha Chi national honor society, Chi Eta Sigma commerce honor society, Kappa Mu Epsilon, Alpha Psi Omega, Society of Collegiate Journalists, Sigma Alpha Pi, Order of Omega Greek honor society, and Les Laurier senior honor society. She has also volunteered for Night to Shine special needs prom, Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. After graduation, she will work as a staff auditor for S.R. Snodgrass in Wexford, Pa. and prepare for her certified public accountant examination.

Schneider has two older brothers, Matthew ’12 and Jared. Her parents, Gary and Sharon Schneider, live in Butler.
