In first competitive season since 2011, Thiel College takes first at Slippery Rock competition

GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Thiel College Cheerleading squad competed at the CCC Red Hot competition hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday.

The Tomcats took first place in the All-Girl Collegiate Level beating out Slippery Rock Club as well as Mercyhurst with zero deductions during the cheer portion of the competition.

Thiel was also recognized for best tumbling throughout the whole competition with first-year students Kara Sokol ’23 and Averi Forsythe ’23 throwing new tumbling passes.

This is the first competitive seasson since 2011 for the team. Following its nine-year hiatus, the team returned to competition on February 1 at Penn-State Behrend.​

The Tomcats will be back in action at the Gannon University Showcase on Sunday, March 29.
