GREENVILLE, Pa.—The Annual Kappa Sigma See-Saw-A-Thon to raise money for the Military Heroes Campaign starts Thursday on the lawn near the intersection of routes 18 and 58 in front of Thiel College’s Howard Miller Student Center.

Celebrating 25 years, the brothers of Kappa Sigma will ride a 25-foot long metal see-saw non-stop from noon Thursday until noon Sunday. They will be collecting money at the intersection for the Military Heroes Campaign. Students and visitors are welcome to ride the see-saw during the 72-hour event.

Kappa Sigma created the Military Heroes Campaign in 2007. The Military Heroes Campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the campaign has donated over $1 million to non-profit organizations that advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.

“I would like to emphasize that this is our 25th year of putting on the See-Saw-A-Thon. Over the years, Kappa Sigma brothers have put a great deal of hard work and effort into this event,” said Kappa Sigma chapter secretary Charlie Lichtenwalter ’22 said. “Anything we can do to help our veterans pales in comparison to the sacrifices they have made for our country."

Thiel College is a Yellow Ribbon institution. The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008.

“We look forward to serving the Thiel College Community and our deserving Military Heroes,” chapter philanthropy chair Jimmy Buckley ’20 said. “We have high expectations that this event will be successful.”
