Thiel College Peer Mentors chosen to help first-year students transition to college experience

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Fourteen Thiel College students will aid the College’s incoming first-year students transition to college life as Peer Mentors for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The students primarily serve as advisors and guides for first-year students. Some of their roles include assisting in teaching an introductory course, aiding their fellow students in creating a class schedule for the spring semester, serving as a liaison with faculty members, and informing students of and encouraging them to go to events.
The program is in its fifth year.
The new 2021–2022 academic year Peer Mentors:
- Marina Anderson ’24, of East Liverpool, Ohio, is a 2020 East Liverpool H.S. graduate and an environmental science major;
- Devyn Bossard ’24, of Townville, Pa., is a 2020 Maplewood H.S. graduate and a math major with a certification in secondary education;
- Morgan Costello ’22, of Brockport, N.Y., is a 2018 Brockport H.S. graduate and an environmental science major;
- Emma Galiardi ’24, of Verona, Pa., is a 2020 Riverview H.S. graduate and a criminal justice major;
- Kylie Gardner ’24, of Warren, Ohio, is a 2020 Champion H.S. graduate and an early childhood and special education major;
- Hunter Gray ’23, of Pittsburgh, Pa., is a 2019 Shaler H.S. graduate and a math major with a secondary education certification;
- Charity Hall ’22, of Warren, Ohio, is a 2018 Warren G. Harding H.S. graduate and a neuroscience major;
- Walter Holtgrefe ’22, of Erie, Pa., is a 2019 McDowell H.S. graduate and a biology major;
- Hanna Jones ’24, of Clarks Mills, Pa., is a 2020 Commodore Perry H.S. graduate and a neuroscience major;
- Ava Park ’22, of Greenville, Pa., is a 2018 Greenville H.S. graduate and an early childhood and special education major;
- Noah Toy ’23, of Greenville, Pa., is a 2019 Greenville H.S. graduate and a history major with a secondary education certification;
- Kylie Vergnola ’24, of Guys Mills, Pa., is a 2020 Maplewood H.S. graduate and a double major in political science and public policy;
- Autumn Wanchick ’23, of Tallmadge, Ohio, is a 2019 Field H.S. graduate and a business administration major;
- Mei Williams ’23, of New Wilmington, Pa., is a 2019 Wilmington H.S. graduate and a business administration major.
