Thiel College premiering new conversation series focused on diversity issues

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion Anthony E. Jones is debuting a new conversation series for students and employees that will focus on specific diversity topics with experts in the field.

The Courageous Tomcat Conversation Series launches at noon Oct. 8. The online meeting will be led by Jones. The first speaker is the director of Allegheny College’s IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, & Social Justice) Center Angelica Perez-Johnston, D.P.A. Perez-Johnston’s talk title is “Coming Into My Own: a journey through intersectionality to embracing self.”

Alumna Amber-Jenae Bodrick ’09 will be featured on Nov. 5 with Chief Inclusion Officer at Augsburg University Joanne Reeck. She was a business administration major at Thiel College and has a master’s degree in healthcare administration. She is an information technology professional, a mentor, a coach, and a community organizer. Bodrick was a 2019 inductee to the Thiel College Athletics Hall of Fame.

“So many people in our communities are experiencing grief, anger, mistrust and misunderstanding right now,” Jones said. “I hope that these conversations can help give us all insights, tools and principles into making our way through a perplexing and frustrating time in our nation’s history.”
