Thiel College senior business major named admissions team student of the month

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Jess Peters ’21 an international business and business administration with a sports management concentration major has been named the Office of Admission’s Thiel Team Member of the Month for December.

She is president of the Student Government Association Executive Board and is vice president of Alpha Xi Delta and philanthropy chair. In her sophomore year, Peters served as president of Lambda Sigma honor society for sophomore students. Peters is president of Order of Omega, which requires that its members be role models for fraternity and sorority leaders and serves to recognize outstanding leadership in fraternity and sorority systems. Peters is vice president of Spanish Club and secretary of the Panhellenic Council. She also has been color guard captain of the Tomcat Marching Pride for three years.

She is also active in the Dietrich Honors Institute, Thiel Student Support Network, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Les Laurier, a senior honorary that has been established to give recognition to students who have a 3.0 GPA or better and who have shown outstanding service and leadership at the College. In her sophomore year, she was also the recipient of the Vira I. Heinz Women and Global Leadership Scholarship which enabled her to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain for four months in Summer 2019.

Peters, a 2017 graduate of Avonworth High School, is the daughter of Erin and Dale Peters Jr. She plans to pursue a career working with a major league sports team in game day management or project management.

“My favorite thing about Thiel is the instant sense of community and friendship I get when being on campus,” Peters said.

The Thiel Team comprises students employed by the Office of Admission. The students primarily serve as ambassadors for prospective students and their families, but they are also responsible for a variety of other jobs and including work on mailings, market research, telemarketing, event support and other administrative, professional and office duties.
