Victory by women’s tennis highlights start of busy fall sports season at Thiel College

GREENVILLE, Pa.— The Thiel College women's tennis team opened the season Saturday with an 8-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference win over the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.

The victory was from one of more than 120 contests scheduled for this fall. Thiel College competes in five women’s and five men’s sports with more than 210 athletes participating.

It was Thiel's first PAC win over Geneva and its first season-opening win since 2014.

The football team hosts Washington & Jefferson at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alumi Stadium in its home opener.
