Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach

The Opportunity

Thiel College welcomes highly motivated applicants for the position of Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach.

The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to lead a program and develop student athletes. Thiel College’s next Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach will be a positive and strategic leader who directs all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program with integrity.  The Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach serves on campus committees, meets with recruits, and engages with student-athletes through highly impactful practices on the field and activities off the field that promote leadership and retention.

This position will have the opportunity to work with and develop a committed group of student-athletes through fundamentals, motivation, and promoting positive values consistent with the mission of Thiel College. Thiel’s Women’s Lacrosse Coach will work with the Director of Athletics, Vice President for Enrollment and the Admissions staff to strengthen a well-structured recruitment program to identify and recruit high-quality prospective student-athletes to support the competitive growth of the women’s lacrosse program.  In addition, they will work collaboratively with Sports Information and the College’s Office of Communication and Marketing to enhance the women’s lacrosse program’s brand through effective marketing, and deepen the support of alumni and program sponsors.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this full-time, 11-month position will be responsible for directing all aspects of Thiel’s NCAA Division III program and will be expected to abide by and uphold the regulations of the NCAA Division III and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. 

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Coaching in a successful NCAA program is desired.

Dating back to 1866, Thiel is a college on the move. It has recently completed a $65 million campaign; is currently experiencing record breaking fundraising, has growing enrollment, new academic programs and dynamic leadership. As a leader of the Athletic Staff, Thiel’s head football coach is an institutional leader and collaborates with members of the President’s Cabinet to accomplish strategic priorities. Reporting to the Athletic Director, and working collaboratively with the Vice President for Enrollment the HFC leads the recruitment, retention and student development aspects of the football program.

Thiel offers a multidisciplinary grounding in the liberal arts with a comprehensive, integrated knowledge base. The College has a strong commitment to access and inclusion; students of color make up a quarter of the incoming class and approximately 45 percent of the class is Pell eligible. Thiel is a supportive environment for first generation students.
