Family Day events added to Homecoming 2017 schedule

Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwestern Pennsylvania, will celebrate Homecoming 2017 with a combination of new activities and old traditions. Homecoming 2017 will bring together students, alumni and friends of the College for dedications of two new facilities and annual traditions such as the parade and football game, but also new this year will be the celebration of Family Day on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Thiel, Greenville students paint the town for Homecoming 2017

Thiel College and Greenville High School students worked together to paint downtown Greenville businesses to get the area ready for Homecoming 2017.

Homecoming 2017 events begin Thursday with Thiel National Spirit Day. Alumni and friends are invited to take a picture in their favorite Thiel gear and post it to social media using the hashtag #TCproud. As part of Thiel Spirit Day, check out Thiel College’s Facebook page and vote for your favorite Spirit Day photo. The photo with the most likes by 4 p.m. Thursday will win a $100 gift card.

Cookout celebrating link between Thiel and St. Paul’s

A cookout at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Keifer Building, 341 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, Pa. brings together students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of both Thiel College and St. Paul’s to celebrate St. Paul’s 150th anniversary. Those who have been part of the Joining Generations partnership between the institutions will be recognized at the event.

Tomcat Tributes are designed to recognize the teamwork Thiel College employees exhibit each day. Employees can nominate co-workers for recognition in four categories (Random Act of Kindness, Going the Extra Mile, Had a Great Idea, Just Because).

Greenville Symphony Art Auction 
Oct. 21 from 4:30-7 p.m.
Lutheran Heritage Room, Howard Miller Student Center

Tickets for the event cost $30 per person and $50 per couple. The event includes an art auction, music, wine and hors d’oeuvres.

Strayhaven Bark Crawl
Nov. 11
Greenville, Pa.

The Strayhaven Animal Shelter in Greenville, Pa. is hosting the fourth annual bar crawl fundraising event. Cost of the event is $25. Participants receive an event T-shirt. Participants will have bus transportation between stops and will sample animal-themed drink specials at each stop.
