Events and occasions covering the spectrum from the joyous to the somber made up the news items at Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, that received the most attention this year. Looking back on the year, the following are the top 10 stories based on the number of views in the Thiel College newsroom, media attention and social media impact.
At 8 a.m. Jan. 10, President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., will deliver a State of the College presentation in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center.
The presentation is an opportunity for faculty and staff to be informed for the upcoming semester.
A continental breakfast will be available.
Members of Lambda Sigma, the sophomore honor society, are collecting clothes for Aware, which assists area families experiencing domestic violence and in need of shelter.
Please consider donating lightly used clothing and new underwear and socks for adults and children.
Collection boxes will be in the Howard Miller Student Center.
Thiel friends and family have another way to help students. A study abroad trip to Greece is planned for students in May 2019.
By using AmazonSmile.com, a donation of .05 percent of every purchase made until June 2019 will be made for the trip.
No matter how much (or how little) you use Amazon, each purchase will help Thiel students head to Greece!
It costs you nothing, but every fraction of a penny helps. The more people and small business who simply order through AmazonSmile rather than "regular Amazon," the more our students benefit.
