All Campus Retreat returns Aug. 17

The All Campus Retreat is from 8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 17. A light continental breakfast and coffee will be available beginning at 8 a.m. Please, RSVP to allow for an accurate count of attendees.

As is the tradition, faculty and staff will gather in the Lutheran Heritage Room to celebrate the milestone years of service of our colleagues and welcome new members of the campus community. Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Liz Frombgen, Ph.D. will provide an overview of the Middle States Self-Study process and share information about the virtual campus visit scheduled for Oct. 24-27.

The primary focus of the retreat will be on the strategic planning process now underway. The Strategic Planning Committee has met weekly this summer, working together to draft a set of goals, objectives, and strategies and to update the College’s mission and identity statements. The retreat will be an opportunity to provide a brief overview of the draft document after which there will be an extended interactive session to gain input from the campus community on the draft plan.

Full campus involvement in the retreat is important as we launch a new academic year and advance the Thiel 2026 strategic plan.

Campus Beautification Day is Thursday

Thiel Beautification Day is from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday. Available staff members are asked to join the maintenance staff in making Thiel College shine before the start of the fall semester. The extra hands are helpful in refreshing the look of landscaping in our main academic areas.

Each department may have varying availability to participate.

The maintenance team will stage different areas based upon the number of volunteers.

Tomcat Tributes

Tomcat Tributes recognize the teamwork Thiel College employees exhibit each day. Employees can nominate co-workers for recognition in four categories (Random Act of Kindness, Going the Extra Mile, Had a Great Idea, Just Because).

Communications collateral

Employees should update the logos used on institutional materials, including email signatures, letterhead, PowerPoint slides, etc.

Thiel College has used the shield and wordmark combination as the official institutional logo for more than a year. They are the only approved logo for academic co-curricular and institutional use. Additional athletic logo packages are also available.

Email signatures, brand resources, and a job request form are all available online. A Dropbox folder has been set up with instructions and the materials necessary to create new email signatures. Employees can find other Thiel College-branded resources including letterhead, logos and PowerPoint slides in the same folder.

Thiel College community members who need help with communications and marketing initiatives and collateral can now request those services with a job form. The request form is available on the communications and marketing webpage or linked directly below.

For more information, email the office.
