    Pi Sigma Alpha

Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honorary society, is sponsored by the department so that excellence in the study of political science can be recognized. The Thiel College chapter, Iota Upsilon, prides itself on the goal of stimulating productive scholarship and intelligent interest in the subject of government.

Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas. It is the only honor society for students of government in universities and colleges. One of the perks to being in Pi Sigma Alpha is that it allows members applying for federal government positions to be listed at a higher entry-level grade of pay than non-members. Also, there are opportunities for members to apply for various scholarships and awards.
